Donation to Backpacks 4 SA Kids & partnership with SAPOL Trauma Teddy Program

On 20 November 2016, Cops for Kids made a $20,000 donation to Backpacks 4 SA Kids. Backpacks 4 SA Kids is a wonderful organisation who provide backpacks containing clothes, pyjamas, toiletries, torches and more to children who are placed in emergency foster care, kinship or domestic violence shelters after being removed from their domestic environment. These backpacks contain age appropriate articles that are essential to a scared and vulnerable child when they have little time to grab what is important to them.

Along with the $20,000 donation, CFK has partnered with the SAPOL Trauma Teddy program to provide 300 teddies to Backpacks 4 SA Kids. In turn, Backpacks 4 SA Kids will be providing special backpacks to SAPOL areas who need them most, starting with the Western Adelaide Family Violence section and Special Crimes Investigation Branch for use by SAPOL members when assisting children during these types of events.

This is a unique partnership that has been four years in the making. To find out more about Backpacks 4 SA Kids visit their website backpacks4sakids.org
