CFK donates to Mary Potter Foundation

On 25 September 2015, CFK donated $18,000 to the Mary Potter Foundation. This wonderful charity supports specialised palliative and end of life care, unique support programs, education and research for people with life limiting illnesses and their families. More than 300 people die in the Mary Potter Hospice at Calvary Hospital in North Adelaide each year, and distressingly, a great number of patients in the hospice are under 50 years old and have young families. Over the last year, hundreds of children have visited someone in the hospice and have not had an adequate, nurturing, child-friendly space available to them or the resources, toys and equipment to make their time at the hospice a more positive experience. The donation from Cops for Kids will be used to redevelop a room in the hospice to be used by children who are visiting family members. The preliminary designs have been seen by the CFK committee and will go a long way to making a child’s time at the hospice a more positive experience. Photos will be posted on the website once the room is completed.
