Cops for Kids has made a $25,000 donation to Can:Do 4Kids to support the redevelopment of the Children’s Community Outdoor Play & Sensory Area at the Can:Do facility at Noarlunga Centre.
The space is being re-designed to support children who are blind/vision impaired, deaf and those with developmental delays to allow children to engage in therapeutic interventions and general exploration in a safe, sensory friendly and controlled environment. The area will contain a ‘mock roadway’ where children will be able to learn road safety.
By supporting a purpose-built outdoor sensory and play area, Can:Do will fill a critical service gap by providing a safe, inclusive space that supports motor development, sensory regulation, social connection, and improved early‑intervention outcomes for the 1,164 children who utilise the Noarlunga Can:Do centre annually.
