In March of 2025, Cops for Kids made a $10,000 donation to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation (WCHF) to partner with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAHMS) to support a suicide prevention project. Cops for Kids has been consistently monitoring the project and its development. Unfortunately, the project could not go ahead so the Board of Cops for Kids worked with the WCHF to identify an urgent need within the hospital to utilise the $10,000 donation. As a result, and with an additional donation of a further $4,000 (total $14,000), the donation will be used to purchase four specialised height-adjustable bassinets for use by parents with disabilities, issues recovering from birth or with mobility issues to access their babies. The need for these specialised bassinets was driven by an event where a new mum with a disability could not reach her baby while in the neonatal unit.
