As part of the Cops for Kid’s goal to see accessible beaches for children and people with disability throughout South Australia, Cops for Kids has donated $16,400 to the Beachport Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) to purchase thirty metres of Mobi Matt Beach Access matting.
Beachport SLSA, on the Limestone Coast, became aware of Cops for Kids through the partnership Cops for Kids has with Surf Life Saving South Australia (SLSSA).
Cops for Kids has previously funded programs for the purchase of accessible matting and wheelchairs at Semaphore SLSC, Moana SLSC and Surfing for the Disabled.
Beachport SLSC has experienced a growth in membership at their club. With the introduction of Surf Babies and Nippers programs, and now with better beach accessibility and new mobility aids, Beachport SLSC are expecting a very busy summer season.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Cops for Kids members who are also SLSSA volunteers. You keep the community safe, with your regular SAPOL duties and across the many beaches in metro and country areas.
