Cops for Kids is proud to be the recipient of a UNESCO Club Achievement Award. This prestigious recognition acknowledges Cops for Kids longstanding commitment to supporting vulnerable children and families throughout South Australia through fundraising, community engagement, and charitable initiatives.
UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) promotes international cooperation in education, science, culture, and communication to foster peace and sustainable development throughout the world. UNESCO recognises that culture, education, science, and information are essential foundations of resilient communities, particularly during times of uncertainty and crisis.
A key component of UNESCO’s global reach is its network of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations, which are independent, community-based organisations dedicated to advancing UNESCO’s values at the grassroots level. The movement has grown into an international network spanning more than 4,000 clubs across 100 countries, bringing together volunteers committed to education, cultural understanding, scientific advancement, and community development.
UNESCO Club’s Adelaide Chapter remains the principal active chapter in Australia. The Chapter supports community initiatives and recognises individuals and organisations whose work embodies UNESCO’s ideals.
Cops for Kids was presented with the UNESCO Achievement Award during a ceremony at the Adelaide Town Hall on the 23rd of September 2026 by the Patrons of the Adelaide UNESCO Chapter, the Governor of South Australia Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC and her husband Mr Rod Bunten in a ceremony presided by the Lord Mayor. The ceremony brought together community leaders, volunteers, and supporters to celebrate individuals and organisations making meaningful contributions to the community through service, leadership, and charitable endeavour.
Receiving the UNESCO Club Achievement Award is a significant honour for Cops for Kids and reflects the dedication of its members, volunteers, supporters, sponsors, and partners who continue to work tirelessly to improve the lives of children and families in need across South Australia. It also recognises the generosity of the many donors and community members whose support makes this work possible.
This award serves as a reminder that positive community impact is achieved through collaboration, compassion, and the collective efforts of people committed to making a difference in the lives of others. Cops for Kids is sincerely grateful for this recognition and remains committed to supporting South Australian children and families for many years to come.
