Today CFK made a donation of $18,000 to Muscular Dystrophy South Australia.
This contribution will be used to purchase two Cough Assist machines to be used at home by children with Muscular Dystrophy.
These children are unable to cough and the accumulated secretions from even a mild cold make them prone to complications such as pneumonia and bronchitis. More often than not, they are admitted to hospital. Since the introduction of Cough Assist machines into people’s homes, Muscular Dystrophy South Australia has identified a significant reduction in the incidence of hospital and ICU admissions, emergency department presentations, chest infections and visits to doctors.
