Helping Homeless Youth – 24-Hour House

Cops for Kids is pleased to have donated $5,000 to support UnitingSA in their efforts to assist homeless youth through the 24-Hour House which is part of UnitingSA’s Western Adelaide Homelessness Services.

The 24-Hour House accommodation provides a refuge for young people, aged 15 to 18, who are experiencing homelessness.  It is more than just a roof over their heads, it is a place where young people are heard and supported to set goals, develop independent living skills, reconnect with education or employment and essentially get their lives on track.  Case Managers work with young people to find more suitable housing outcomes and includes reunification with their family where possible, or a move to share housing, other youth homes and transitional/supportive housing, private rental, or community and public housing.

The $5,000 donation will be used to upgrade communal living spaces and equipment to enhance the comfort and home-feel of the property. Homelessness Support | Reducing Risk of Homelessness | UnitingSA
