CFK has recently made a $30,000 donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). The donation will be used to support further research to help those children affected by juvenile diabetes.
This donation has been inspired by the struggles faced by a number of CFK and SAPOL families who have children enduring this debilitating lifetime disease. See JDRF Link for more information about the foundation.
So far this financial year, CFK has donated over $107,000.
Starlight Foundation has recently advised CFK of the results of the ‘Captains on Call’ program. This was a new initiative developed at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and supported by CFK where Captain Starlight’s went to the Burns Unit distracting kids during their various treatments. From the excellent feedback from doctors, parents and children, the program is now going to be rolled out nationally. What a great result. This would not have been possible without our members contributions.
