Transport accidents are the number one cause of injury-related deaths in children aged up to 14 years with between 70-80% of child seats/restraints incorrectly installed.
Kidsafe SA provide an invaluable service to the children of South Australia by offering child car restraint fitting services, specialising in fitting a range of child car seats, baby carriers / capsules and booster seats for the safe transportation of children.
To ensure this vital service reaches as many children as possible, Cops for Kids is funding a three-year $50,000 child restraint road safety program, targeting country areas and the outer northern and southern suburbs of Adelaide.
Children living outside metropolitan Adelaide are 3 times more likely to die in a transport crash than children living within metropolitan Adelaide. The recent donation of $14,600 will allow Kidsafe SA to conduct free child seat restraint fitting and checking services in these locations, enabling child injury prevention efforts across the state.
