Cops for Kids has donated $14,825 to complete the three-year commitment to guarantee the supply of 15 Seizure Monitors a year. Between 2023-2025, Cops for Kids has donated 45 Seizure Monitors at a cost of $43,438.

Seizure Monitors are a lifesaving piece of medical equipment that is placed in a child’s bed and detects movements similar to seizures.  If a child suffers a seizure while sleeping, an alarm is triggered alerting the family.  These seizure mats are life changing. The supply of these monitors is crucial to the health of the entire family and substitutes the need for a parent or sibling to sleep in the same room/bed as a child with epilepsy.

The Epilepsy Centre supplies the monitors for families in need, free of charge and Cops for Kids has been proud to partner with the Epilepsy Centre to support this vital service. You can read more about the work done by the Epilepsy Centre at epilepsycentre.org.au
