The second Cops for Kids Jason Doig Scholarship was announced and presented during the Lucindale memorial cricket match on Sunday 16th November 2025.
Cops for Kids has collaborated with the Lucindale Area School and the Lucindale Chaplaincy Support Group establishing a scholarship to preserve and honour Jason’s contribution to the community.
The Scholarship is bestowed on a local youth assessed by a panel consisting of the Principal of the Lucindale Area school, a member of the chaplaincy group, a Cops for Kids Board member and the OIC Lucindale Police as displaying humanitarian effort, community service and Jason’s key traits of leadership, integrity, support and service. The Scholarship is to be utilised to further the education of the youth.
The second Jason Doig Scholarship, worth $1000, was awarded to Harmony Reed with the blessing of Jason’s family who were present. Jason’s brother Brett Doig assisted with the presentation.
Harmony was a standout applicant for the Scholarship exemplifying the characteristics for which this Scholarship stands for, community involvement, dedication to her peers, teamwork, bravery in the face of hardship and humility. The Scholarship will be used by Harmony to commence studies in 2026 to become a nurse.
