West Beach Nippers Program ready for summer

Cops for Kids has made a $12,427 donation to the West Beach Surf Life Saving Club to buy essential equipment for the Club’s Adaptive Nippers Program to be launched this summer. The goals of the program are to provide a safe and inclusive surf lifesaving experience for children with disabilities, to provide opportunities for participants to develop beach safety awareness, surf skills, and confidence in the water, all the while ensuring they feel welcomed and valued within the community.

The program will benefit children with disabilities, their families, and the broader community by fostering participation, building social connections, and promoting essential water safety skills. Volunteers will also gain valuable experience in inclusive practices.

This donation will purchase 3 x ‘softboards’, a Sandpiper Wheelchair, and an All-Terrain walker. For more details, click West Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
